WHAT HAPPENED?
The former Manchester United winger, who moved to Stade Velodrome in the summer of 2024, has enjoyed a productive debut campaign in France. He has 18 goals to his name, along with four assists.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 23-year-old’s efforts have helped to keep Marseille in the hunt for a runners-up finish – behind runaway title winners Paris Saint-Germain – and Champions League qualification. He has recorded several spectacular strikes this season.

Greenwood has, however, been overlooked on the Ligue 1 Player of the Year shortlist – with no Marseille players being recognised there. That is despite the one-cap England international – who is switching allegiance to Jamaica – being second in the Golden Boot race behind PSG superstar Ousmane Dembele.

WHAT MASON GREENWOOD SAID
He is not overly concerned at missing out on an individual prize – having been named Getafe’s Player of the Year last season during a loan spell in Spain – with Greenwood telling reporters: “I don't worry about it. I'm just focused on getting Marseille into the Champions League.”
